The founding members of ESAFAM have helped to design and launch a wide range of programmes that promote positive parenting and support the positive development of children and young people.

The Family Education and Support Programme (Programa de Formación y Apoyo Familiar) is one of the evidence-based positive parenting programmes acknowledged by the Ministry for Education. It is also a recipient of the Progreso Award in the field of Social Services.

The programme forms part of Seville’s Municipal Prevention and Care Plan for At-Risk Children and Adolescents (Plan Municipal de Prevención y Atención a la Infancia y Adolescencia en Riesgo) and has been implemented with beneficiaries of the city’s family preservation services since 2005.

ESAFAM’s preventive intervention initiatives include the APEGO Programme, a pioneering effort that engages health professionals in encouraging positive parenting and child and youth development. APEGO, which provides health care professionals with support resources related to this subject, is implemented throughout Andalusia as part of the Programme for Monitoring the Health of Children and Adolescents in Andalusia’s Public Health Care System (Programa de Seguimiento de la Salud Infantil y Adolescente del Sistema Sanitario Público Andaluz).
